Who is Shannon?

Hi there! 

My name is Shannon, and I lead and manage Best Float Valve. I started working with Best Livestock Equipment in 2013, and Best Float Valve was birthed from that business. 

I did not grow up on a farm. In fact, I grew up in the piney hills of Louisiana. I loved every chance I got to be around horses and other animals. While I have my hunting license, after my first harvest, I stopped shooting animals. I may or may not have cried. It was a great shot, regardless!

I love to sit in the deer stand with my dad, and I enjoy fishing with him as well. I especially adore eating all that he has worked so hard to bring home. 

The vast majority of the meat we ate growing up was from what my dad and grandfather hunted or fished for us. I took it for granted having such wonderful, fresh food on the regular. 

After moving to Kentucky for school, I got connected with Best Livestock Equipment. I loved the idea of scouring the country for the most durable, simple, and sustainable products and equipment for farms and dairies. 

I have always valued excellence. I want to buy a really good version of a product and use it for a long time. I value resources, time, and good craftsmanship. I now live in the middle of three mountain ranges in Northern California. I spend as much time hiking to waterfalls as I can. This is truly one of the most beautiful places in the country!!

After dealing with drought for the majority of the time that I've lived here, I've become even more aware of how imperative it is to have excellent equipment in stock tanks to help conserve water! Having a leaking or overflowing tank just won't do!
